The Process

UDK technicians carefully follow industry standards and procedures to achieve proper mold remediation from assessment to repairs.

1. Mold Assessment

It is critical to assess the severity of the problem before beginning the mitigation process. Our experts will evaluate the affected areas of concern and work to locate the source causing the damage. Mold is often found in areas difficult to access.

2. Third Party Testing

UDK recommends using a third party Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to conduct air sampling tests before any suspected areas are disturbed. Use caution when working with a mold mitigation contractor that claims they can also provide air sampling tests as that is seen as a conflict of interest.

3. Mold Containment/Spore Filtration

Once the results are in, UDK can establish a plan for the mold remediation. Steps are taken to contain the mold at the source and prevent it from cross contaminating other areas of the property.

4. Mold Remediation

Once containments have been set, UDK will proceed with the remediation plan. Typically, most mold problems involve removing building materials to properly mitigate affected materials such as drywall, insulation and flooring materials. Our trained and certified technicians take safety precautions to protect themselves and occupants from contamination.

5. Mold Damage Repair

UDK is a full service general contractor. We specialize in returning properties to their pre-loss condition. This includes helping to identify problems that caused mold in the first place (i.e., leaky plumbing) and then repairing all building materials that were damaged by the mold remediation from wall and ceiling drywall, to shower tile and all flooring materials.

No matter how extensive the mold damage, Utah Disaster Kleenup can help. If you have any mold related questions, call us at (801) 845-0065, or fill out our contact form.
